Hi everyone, TGIF! It's been a busy week at our house. My son has had his regular sports activities, but in the middle of the week he was under the weather and had to come home a half day from school. Luckily he was feeling well enough the next day to go on a field trip to the Lincoln Boyhood Home National Memorial. Lincoln is very popular with the fourth grade crowd and we had a super time with the kids on the field trip. We have a birthday party approaching for a soon to be 10 year old boy who loves soccer, so this is the card I came up with. I wish I knew his team colors--I would have matched his colors in the card, but since I didn't....I went with a great blue and green combo fit for double digits. Check it out:
Clean lines make the best masculine cards in my opinion!
And I totally love this interior message. I used the "Amazeballs" set by CAS-ual Fridays Stamps. Oh how I love those stamps....and I love this sentiment for any sports/ball themed card I make.
Ok...now there's a super challenge going on at Use It Tuesdays--it's "use two hoarded items" and my card certainly qualifies. The blue paper was from an 8 by 8 stack that I bought probably 5 years ago. I'm not sure why I bought 8 by 8....I never scrap that size! And the green embellishments in the corners? Those are push pins (I think)...or something like that. I remember buying them because I used them in a class at a LSS. You have to buy a push pad (basically a mouse pad) then push the brads through the paper. Instead of the two brad pointy things that you sply apart, there are four pokey things that you push to the center. They really are easy to use, but I only ever bought one color....so much for getting into that fad! And I have to say...I use the push pad all the time for piercing, poking brads through, etc. It's saved my fingers from having blood drawn many times, so money well spent.....8 years ago.
So that's it for me today....I hope you have a super weekend and I sure hope to get some more time in my craft room. I do have a little problem....my under-cabinet lighting blew up the last time I used it, and I really, really need that lighting. Maybe I can twist my hubby's arm to install some new lights for me. Wish me luck....
