Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a super day so far.... My son is playing in a basketball tournament, so we have a lot to do this weekend. But I have a great card that I made earlier this week and I've been dying to share it:
I love tree stamps. They are so versatile and I've been looking for a good tree set to add to my collection. I saw Trees and Things by CTMH and knew it was exactly what I was looking for. It's a basic tree stamp, but it has all sorts of little additions--birds, the swing, grass, a tire swing, lanterns, more leaves, etc. Tons...in fact, a couple of the stamps I can't figure out what they are!
For this card, I stamped the basic tree on my main white background. I stamped the leaves on a separate piece and then cut around the leaves. I didn't cut a perfect circle, I just free hand cut around the shape of the leaves. I put a pop dot behind the circle of leaves so it stood up from the base. Now--here's a tip--stamp the swing before adhering the leaves. I stamped the bird on a scrap then fussy cut it out and adhered it to the tree with a glue dot.
The grass is sponged, but I did add two tufts--other stamps included in this set. I sponged the sky, too.
See that mesh? It was probably 12 years old. Very vintage scrappy supplies! And you might notice some flecks of ink behind my main image on the craft--again another vintage stamp set--Itty Bitty Backgrounds by Stampin' UP!. I love mixing old stuff with new stuff!
I thought you might want to see a close up of this image. I used some chalk in around the edge of the leave piece, it softened it and made it look less "harsh" as it was when it was just plain white.
I hope you like my card...can you tell I'm ready for spring?! Bring on the green leaves!
